Winter sports

All you skiers, remember. You don’t go skiing to get fit, you get fit to go skiing. Get those legs stronger and fitter. Tired legs lead to faulty technique which can cause injury. I’m getting marathon runners in the clinic now so all you first timers and shorter distance runners remember to hydrate, up your carbs and protein and remember to stretch regularly. Increase mileage sensibly. There are some good marathon training programs on the Internet. Good luck.

Early season injuries.

The start of the new season has seen an influx of soft tissue injuries in the clinic. A lot of these can be attributed to a lack of pre season preparation, pre match warm up and joint flexibility. Stretching can be monotonous but lack of joint range can cause poor technique, more effort to move and soft tissue strain. Come on you athletes, a little effort can lead to a pain free, successful season.
